Night snorkeling??

We will be staying at the ABR next month and are wondering about night snorkeling. Is it something that is done in Akumal? Is it safe? If so, do the dive shops rent underwater lights (not sure of the correct term) and what is the cost? Also, should we use a guide and who should we use. We have two daughters ages 6 and 10 -- would this activity be appropriate for them?

Thanks in advance.

Contact one of the dive shops when you get there.

One at ABR and 2 at Akumal

While I have not "night" snorkeled, I have gone on several scuba dives at night.

Any one on the dive shops can help you set up a night snorkel outting. The under water world looks and act totally different at night. Well worth the extra cost.
