QQ Feedback Anyone?

Hi - We are trying to plan a first visit to Lake Chapala/Ajijic area. Wondering about the benefits or drawbacks of renting a casa versus staying at a B & B for our first visit. Does anyone out there have any feedback on the QQ Bed and Breakfast vs. Case Flores or Villa Angel ? Any other suggestions that you could make that might only be available to an insider would be appreciated. We want to be fairly central so we can walk to things easily and maybe take some spanish classes ? Muchas gracia !

We stayed at the QQ in August 2008. The rooms are not luxurious as are some B&Bs, but adequate. The gardens are fabulous -- a green oasis in the heart of the city. The breakfasts are also wonderful-- Pati works her wonders with fruit -- always beautiful and yummy! Everyone is friendly and helpful. It is only 2 blocks from the lake and close to everything. There is wireless internet.

QQ is in Chapala and the other 2 B&B are in Ajijic. That is a big difference to begin with. I haven't see QQ but hear it is nice. The other 2 B&B are among the best in town. Casa Flores is BELOW the Carreterra and an easy walk to all things in Ajijic. BELOW the carreterra is where many shops, restaurants, the plaza etc are located. Villa del Angel is up the hill from the carreterra (highway)and depending on your legs may not be within an easy walk to the old village, tho the property is beautiful.

As Liquipure states there is a big difference between Chapala and Ajijic

we went for the 1st time and stayed at Casa Flores and had an excellent time - so good we are going back next month. Unfortunately we dont speak much Spanish but were definately more comfortable in Ajijic speaking English than the one day we went to Chapala. We also would prefer to be below the cartera when staying there - as it is easier to get around town
