It depends on which ferry (to where) you are taking.

A bit more specific:

marine-atlantic.ca/port-aux-basques-north-sy…

Passenger Rates (One Way)

Rates Fuel Surcharge Security Fee Total

Adults 13 - 64 years $32.02 $6.72 $3.50 $42.25

Children 5 -12 years $16.16 $3.39 $0.00 $19.56

Vehicles are also on the site and vary depending upon size. Figure $110 per standard car.

So two adults plus their car runs about $195 ONE WAY. This does not include a cabin. That's for North Sydney to Port-aux-Basques. Rates to Argentia are SIGNIFICANTLY higher. It will be about $450 for the two adults and a vehicle ONE WAY.

Costs are probably more than stated above if you are travelling summer season due to fuel surcharges. I haven't checked this week but Marine Atlantic has no crossings advertized for booking past April right now. Schedule is not available yet. I've complained about this to Dept of tourism as most accommodation and other bookings revolve around crossings. I think I paid $540 for a round trip with a cabin PAB to NS for car, one passenger going and two returning. Aug 2012 holiday. Haven't left Nl since!

I think the schedule is posted now as it was on the news that rates went up another 3%.
