Food and drink are airport prices. However the prices are still much cheaper than other European airports.

The customs are very grumpy!

Hi

There can be bottlenecks at the airport as it's not the largest or best run.

If you are arriving to spend your holiday on the coast you won't be spending too much time in the airport but going home it may be a good idea to take some food from the resort ( sandwiches, biscuits, crisps etc.) and just buy a drink.

If I can remember correctly they were charging 5 lvs for a can of beer which is nearly double the normal price in the resort. Juice is usually 4lvs or there abouts.

Word of warning though stay clear of McDonalds at the airport as you pay nearly 3 times the resort prices.

Bourgas airport is not as big a rip off as East Midlands Airport. Asked for a tomato on my breakfast, received half a one and was charged £1.29. Now I know why it's called Robin Hood Country.

Bourgas Airport is quite small for the amount of people going through it. The prices are more than in the resort, so we always buy something there and take it to the airport to eat.

Last year, lots of queueing out through the doors but once inside, we sailed through customs but the bottleneck was in the departure lounge. Lots of russian flights grounded over a dispute I understand and there were nowhere near enough seats. Again though, having said all that, our flight was bang on time going home.

Sharon, last year a tour company catering for Russian touists went bust and some holidaymakers were stuck in Bourgas airport for days. I agree with your comments and others above, Usually you must queue outside until the desks are open. Once inside and having cleared customs and security, the airport is small and the departure lounge is anything but comfortable. The rooftop terrace is usually crowded too. Its not the ideal airport to be waiting for flights. Everything very expensive.
