Malaria tablets

Hi we are going to Sri Lanka in February doing the Ceylon tour with Kuoni and just wondered if anyone had any good tips for this tour and also if malaria tablets are needed?

We will be there in February and March....the travel medicine clinic at an excellent hospital in Boston said tablets are not necessary.....we were there last year and it was the same...do get all of your shots......have fun...I know you will

As long as you are mosquito aware - use DET repellant, long sleeves in the evening etc - than you should be alright

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) in the US says that most parts of Sri Lanka are malaria free. The trick is to be covered up evenings and early mornings and carry plenty of repellant DEET. Our son is going on a school trip across the island for a week and we opted out of giving him malaria pills.

Also be aware of dengue mosquitoes in the day time.
