Girls getaway in April

I am planning a girls getaway before I get married. What is there to do here? How are the restaurants/nightlife?

Wrightsville Beach is not a seasonal beach. Lots of people live year round so restaurants and shops are open. The Azalea Festival is April 10-14th in Wilmington so keep that in mind. It is a very popular festival and rooms fill up quickly. View the site www.wilmingtonandbeaches.com for events, dining and shopping, etc. Hope your weather is wonderful!

I would go into downtown Wilmington, park and walk down to front street. there are lots of bars and restaurants, many of them with outdoor areas (if the weather is nice) overlooking the river and the battleship. Elijahs is one of our favorites - love their crab dip.

If you want to stay closer to Wrightsville, Bluewater is nice. It is casual but nice and overlooks the marina and the intercoastal waterway.

There are tons of fun places in downtown Wilmington. The nightlife down here is very diverse. If you are looking for something classy and lowkey you should visit the Sofa Lounge upstairs at Caprice Bistro (great martinis, strongest in Wilmington!), or visit Circa 1922, this is a choice of many people in the film industry that are here for work, it's a little more expensive, but they have a great drink selection and tapas menu.

Little Dipper is a super cute fondue restaurant that features live music out on the back deck. It's a great place to hang out and have a glass of wine.

If you are looking for something a little more lively you can try Blue Post (look carefully, the entrance is off an alleyway and you might miss it if you are not paying attention). Blue Post is a fun place for people of all ages, the bar is always crowded but if you go into the back room the crowd thins out a little. There are pool tables, air hockey, skee bal and more!

City Limits is your typical "get drunk, ride of the mechanical bull, dance on the bar" type of place. Lots of good music and large dance floor.

Pravda is a fun place to go: there are tables and space at the bar to hang out and a dance floor if you need to get your groove on!

Hope this helps! I have many more suggestions depending on what you are looking for.

Downtown Wilmington is a great place with TONS of bars and restaurants all in walking distance.
