date/ girlfriend

My and my girlfriend on our dates we usally always do the same thing. Will either go to the mall, starbucks, Barn and Noble, go to the movies or go out to eat. I'm 20 and so is she. What are some cool/nice places that I could take her to?

I take it you're near Stratford Road/Hanes Mall-

There's Mini-Golf next to Hanes Furniture, check out Metal Rebel, Ziggy's or RubberSoul also.

Or just keep enjoying movie nights (you can't go wrong with that).

You know, when I was dating my wife, we never really cared where we were as long as we were together. Enjoy!

Here are some things the I like:

* Reynolda House, Village, and Gardens -- Check out the great collection of American Art, go for a quick hike, enjoy all the pretty flowers in the beautiful gardens, check out the unique shops, or stop for a meal.

* Do a walking tour of the West End and check out all the beautiful historic architecture. You can get a map here:http://www.echidnadesign.com/w-sfrontporch/home.html

When you're done, eat at the West End Cafe, one of my favorites.

* Go on a wine tour. Some of the wineries just outside of W-S make good and afordable wines and they're fun to tour too. The website below makes it really easy.

* Go to the Carving Board off of Stratford Road to buy some picnic food and then drive up to Pilot Mountain and eat at one of the picnic tables. When you're done, go to the overlooks and enjoy the view. It's a really quick drive.

* Enjoy the arts. Winston-Salem has amazing arts events for a city of its size. The symphony is great. So is SECCA. Also, some of the shows and exhibits put on by all the colleges in the area -- Wake, the School of the Arts, Salem, W-S State, are often very good and also usually very inexpensive or free.

* Are they still doing all those cool evening concerts downtown? The area around Trade street has gotten so interesting in the last few years. Go downtown, have a coffee, and tour the galleries. Checkout this website for some of the cool events:

The concerts downtown start today (Thursday/Friday/Saturday). I'm a female and I have always gotten in free, otherwise it's just $3.

Ziggy's is another good place since you are still under 21.

Check out http://www.dwsp.org for more ideas. I think the Mellow Mushroom is a pretty fun restaurant to visit and eat at.
