Ideal 7 day driving trip with camping and lots of lobster!

Hi! We are a family of 5 with one small kid, and are looking to do a trip from Toronto to Bay of Gaspe in about 7-8 days.

We would like some advice on

1. Camping sites: anywhere that has a good view, hiking trails and access to fresh lobster.

2. Wineries and breweries

3. Best spots for lobster: we are big foodies, so food advice of any kind would be amazing.

For that trip... you will need 30 hours just for driving NON_STOP... (round trip)... (add bio breaks and play time for the child!) That is almost 4 very long days of driving ... out of 8 days... 5 people in a car!

Outch!

Lobster season is in May-June. It's over for this year, unfortunately. :(

Wineries and breweries: the best two, IMO, are Carpinteri Vineyards in St-Ulric (2 km off the 132) and Pit Caribou in Anse-à-Beaufils and Percé. Auval is another big name. I also really enjoy some of the fruit wines from Bourdages in Saint-Simeon. There are a couple of gin makers including O'Dwyer's in Gaspé.

Look up Gaspésie Gourmande for a full list of foodie spots. I particularly like the smoked salmon from Cascapedia. Alexina in Grand River has an excellent selection of cheeses, Brulerie du Quai in Carleton for coffee and chocolate, etc.

Hiking, camping, views: IMO, the best are Percé, Forillon, Mont Albert, Carleton-sur-mer. All have great trails and views, and are worth spending a few days at.

Just returned from Gaspé last week .

Driving is not that strenuous if you break the journey , may be in rivière du loop .

Driving with a child , if he's is used to long distance, wouldn't be a problem .

Lobster season is still on , had some superb Club Homards (lobster club sandwiches )

Forillion / percé rock/ Gaspé national park is a must .

You get camp sites by the sea but if it's a busy weekend , you might need prior bookings .

Make reservations for lunch/dinner at gite de mont Albert restaurant, superb food .

Be careful at st Anne de monts , bit of a rip off town . Everyone seems to earn money fast .

Views are amazing . Try to do the trip anti clock wise coz you get to drive on the ocean side .

Hope you have a wonderful time .
