Nags Head or other coastal NC beachfront cottages

We are looking for accomodations for 4 adults and 4 children and possibly 2 more adults for June 25-July 2. There is a possibility that a 19 year old blind/disabled cat would join us! Just want a place with a decent pool, beachfront rooms so the kids can play in the sand/ocean. Not touristy and no college, rowdies. Laid back. Can anyone please help? If you can please e-mail me at JerseyHendersons@aol.com.

I have vacationed on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (not touristy and no college rowdies). It's a very laid back beach destination with lots of houses of varying sizes. It's a really great family destination. We have gone there from Manhattan, so our commute may approximate yours. It's a bit of a haul. Other family members have driven there, but we always fly. Flying means that we fly to Norfolk and then we rent a car and drive the remaining distance. I believe that you can take a puddle jumper from Norfolk, we haven't.

When you get there, stay on the northern end of the isthmus. Some town names are: Corolla and Duck. The southern end is less nice and can be somewhat junky (that is an opinion based on sight -- I've never stayed there). It appears to be louder and more commercial on the southern end too. Once you're there, it's a peacful, let the kids run around and relax kind of atmosphere.

There is a realty company that represents numerous properties. The company is called Twiddy, and they have a web site. Good luck!

Try Resort Quest for houses and condos in the Village of Corolla Light. We love the Whalehead area of Corolla. Big wide beaches.

Try the Outer Banks, south of Oregon Inlet. Town names: Rodanthe, Salvo, Waves, Avon, Buxton, Hatteras. Or really charming: Ocracoke Island, accessible only by ferry. Between the developed areas are long stretches of totally undeveloped beach maintained by the US Park Service. There's also a wonderful wildlife refuge (Pea Island)

South Nags Head is fantastic...beautiful beaches..Quiet and not congested at all...

We go there a couple of times a year and love it...

Rent a cottage instead of staying in a Motel....

The soundside in Nags Head around mile marker 12...by Jockeys Ridge is fantastic for kids...They can go out a half mile in the sound and still be up to thier waist. The water is great and clean... YOu can relax while they play safe.....
