Do I have to pay admission if I just want to hike to falls and not take elevator ride?

how far off the parkway is it?

To hike to the falls you must purchase a ticket to Chimey Rock park. Been awhile since I visited Chimney Rock but IIRC its around 45 minuntes from Asheville and the BRPWY. NC is blessed with lots of beautiful waterfalls. Here is a link I like to use to do my research. http://www.ncwaterfalls.com/

Yes, you still pay to enter Chimney Rock Park whether you take the elevator ride or not, and/or just want to hike Hickory Nut Falls.

It is around 20 miles or so from the Blue Ridge Parkway to Chimney Rock Park.
