Where to rest our weary heads ?

Can anyone offer their advice on Chetola Lodge vs. Yonahlossee ? Thanks.

Chetola Lodge is on the edge of Blowing Rock. This offers convenience to all the facilities in downtown Blowing Rock.

Yonahlossee Is on Shoals Mills Road. A windy, twisty road about a mile or 2 from the downtown Blowing Rock area. Both are equal in amenities, except for location.

If more information is needed, please me me know.

Thanks for the info - on both requests.

After looking at what there is to do in Blowing Rock and considering our available time, we may just drive into Asheville and venture out from there.

My only concern is...can we drive from Asheville north for a quick stop at Grandfather Mtn. and leisurely drive back down the BRP to Asheville, taking time for stops at the scenic spots ? We are NOT big hikers, but do like to take lots of photos.

Will there be enough time in a day without feeling TOO rushed ?

Thanks.

The drive from Blowing Rock to Grandfather is better, in my opinion. It includes the Linn Cove Viaduct and Price Lake among other landmarks and has a number of very accessible trails off the Parkway. It is liesurely, enough. You might also check out Gideon's Ridge in Blowing Rock. It is quite nice and reportedly has an excellent restaurant. It's on the other side of downtown from Chetola, very near THE Blowing Rock. Super view.

It is a shame there is not time enough for both. Blowing to Asheville is 2 hours. Just off the BRP, at Black Mountain is one of the Local Artisans Craft Centers. There are so many talented people in this area and well worth the visit. There is also another at the Moses Cohn Center, off the BRP in the Blowing Rock area. Just to admire the many talents and beautiful creations, is most enjoyable. The views from the Moses Cohn Center are beautiful also.
