Getting around TaB and Mont Choisy

Hey!

We will stay at Liberty Drive Apartments, the upper side of Trou Aux Biches near Mont Choisy in January 2019.

I wonder what it looks like with transport opportunities such as taxi or bus?

If anyone has any tips on a good local ability that can transport us (6 people) by minibus and who also arrange private tours, I would really be grateful for your tips or contacts.

I also wonder if there are any good supermarkets nearby, given that we have self-catering for this holiday.

Tommy, there is a bus service from TAB/Mon Choisy to Grand Baie. Find out more on the website below.

https://www.mauritius-buses.com/

Good local supermarket in TAB called Chez Popo plus plenty of shops in Grand Baie like SuperU which is a hypermarket. Also look at La Croisette Mall.

I can't help you with personal recommendation for local minibus for private tours but you could contact Ebrahim Tours in Grand Baie. We always use them for car hire and they do tours as well.

Tommy I think you might be better heading to Grand Baie. Popos is a good little supermarket but on the south side of TAB so quite a walk for you. If you're going to bus it you might as well head north towards Grand Baie to Super U.

Thanks for your help!

Are the busses stopping at only special bus points or you just grab it like a cab?

We are staying at liberty premium apartments between tab and mont choisy but I can't find the bus route on any maps.

On a map it looks more like Mon Choisy than TAB so definitely head north to Grand Baie for shopping. Buses stop at bus stops only, from my experience.

Have a look at the website I posted earlier - try the link below which is for the trip from Mon Choisy to Grand Baie. SuperU is on La Salette Road about 2 blocks back from the beach - an easy walk.

Hi!

Thanks for the answer!

Are there food trucks in the evening also or do they only operate during beachhours?

You only find food carts in the daytime. Some of them close up by early afternoon.

However the village of Triolet now has several places to eat, although it is aimed at locals. Just head for the main road from the small police station.
