Off to the Maritim next week, worried the weathers rubbish!

We’re off on Monday after a long wait to the Maritim for 2 weeks rest and relaxation.

Are there any Mauritius locals viewing this post who can tell me what kind of weather we can expect?

If you look at weather sites there is a very mixed picture. Just want to know if I need to pack shorts or waterproofs!

The past 2 days have been sunny with cloudy spells and some slight odd rain showers at night which I only noticed because the front patio looked damp this morning. Its hot in the sun, no rain today but breezy which helps mitigate the heat. It feels warmer today than yesterday.

We are getting stronger trade winds as its July now.

I answered this yesterday I think so I will bump that thread for you.

See post # 8.

Sounds good - thanks for the update, I'll pack the sun cream and leave the brolly at home!

Take the brolly as well! Mauritius has the odd short, sharp shower which can catch you unawares at any time. Your brolly also doubles as a sun shade, if necessary!

Enjoy your holiday.

Certainly take your brolly, I always do. But don't think I've ever actually used it.

Have a great holiday :-)

hmmm... will remember this one - perhaps by actually taking a brolly, it keeps the rain away!

Kaz, I work on just that theory and it's always worked for me over the years. Taking something warm for the possible chilly evenings also does the trick too, the brolly and sweater both come home unused.

Mazza :-)

Weather HAS to better than what we are having today... forecasters say we had the wettest June on record... think July is trying to match it!
