Please advise going back to Touareg next month, this will be our 2nd visit, did not pay any tax on our last visit Dec 2012 how much is it. Also last your year we took € is it still better to take euros!

3. Re: Tourism tax

Tourist tax came on around May this year. 16 and overs pay 2 euros per person per night up to a maximum of 20 euros each. So if you stay 14 nights you will pay 20 euros, 10 nights 20 euros, 7 nights 14 euros.

Euros is best to take.

Hope that helps

How does this work if I am not staying in a hotel but in a privately rented apartment?

Thanks

You won't pay the tax foynesDurham. It is collected only at hotels where 99% of tourists choose to stay anyway. Let's hope the government doesn't change it anytime soon!
