Seneca casino resort fee

Yikes - I thought Vegas was bad! Seneca casino now charges $15 resort fee that includes nothing. I called and was told instead of taxes they now charge a resort fee. Good thing you still get free alcoholic drinks there.

Per night or for the entire stay? This does not seem to be to be unreasonable, considering hotel taxes the area are about 16%.

Sounds like NFNY's version of NYON's bogus 3% "Destination Marketing Fee".

It is per night. $15 for a standard room and $25 for a suite. There are no taxes paid since it is owned by an Indian reserve so they are just getting collecting extra $$$. I find it the nicest hotel on the USA side so no complaints from me. I will let you know after this weekend if they charge this fee on comped rooms.

No problem - the reservation clerk confirmed with her supervisor since I warned her I was posting it on trip advisor! :-) I guess this helps pay for the $26 million in renovations.

At the Seneca Casinos there is No tax on the room, gifts or food, you get free parking, free drinks (with alcohol if you wish). IMO the "resort fee" is more reasonable than what you would pay in a Canadian side hotel, with the $20+ parking, 13% tax on everything, plus 3.5% DMF or TIFF on whatever they think they can get ya for...

I just got back. There is no resort fee if you have a comped room. The rooms now have free wifi. (They used to charge for it before.) Valet parking is now $5 (It used to be free) but the fee is waived if you are staying at the hotel. I love that you can use your comp $$$ at Tim Hortons. I brought back some coffee with me.
