Questions about hotel/transportation?

Hi all,

I have just recently decided to take a trip w/ a friend of mine to Niagara falls. We are staying @ the Marriot Fallsview, and have reserved a fallsview room. We will be there about 4 days, and would like to really enjoy the trip. Any tips on things to do? We'd like to do the whirlpool jet boats, and take the Cave of the Winds tour. Any other suggestions? Also, does anyone (a local maybe?) know the best way to get from the airport to our hotel? Does Marriot have shuttles from the airport?

Thanks!

Hey Stace,

My husband and I are going next weekend. We are also staying at the Marriot Fallsview with a fallsview room. We are flying into Buffalo. I'm interesting in reading someone's response to your post also.

Have fun!

I wonder is it worth it to take a sightseeing tour (we usually take one everytime we visit somewhere) in Niagara Falls or not? since we wanna ride the maid of the mist, the aero car.. so far themajestic is the cheapest compare others .. the transportation from Buffalo airport (round trip) and the sightseeing tour only US$69/adult (American side or Canadian side).. if somebody use majestictour let me know ..

I recommend a rental car, as cabs run are $60 to Niagara Falls, NY and even more to Canada. Check out www.bedoretours.com - they offer the cheapest tours of the Falls and are pretty nice people. Call the Marriott directly to inquire if they have shuttle service. The front desk or concierge should be able to let you know...

jelita --> When in May are you going? Our trip is also mid-may. We'll be there from the 14th to the 17th. I'm so excited. I've heard the hotel is a couple blocks from Clifton Hill, although I'm not 100% sure. I'm hoping it's close.

Missyatl --> When you get back, HOW WAS THE TRIP???? Any inside tips we need to know before going? How was the food/restaurant?

We decided it would be best to rent a car. We used Hotwire, who had cars from about $42-$50 depending on what you want. But when thinking about paying $120 for a shuttle...then cab fares, and any other transportation costs, we figured the $170 for the car was worth it. Only about $50 more than the shuttle, and we'll have a car for 3 days! I hope this was the right decision....but transportation seems SO expensive out there, we figured we'd rough it out, and drive!!!

Stace, we'll be there on 19-22 at Marriot fallsview, we'll take the sightseeing tour with Niagara Majestic tour also pick up (round trip) from Buffalo Airport to the hotel with them. The hotel have a shuttle to the Clifton hill .. I wonder if that shuttle is free (usually if from the hotel will be free but I don't know if will be the same with Marriot Niagara in Canada.. ) I don't wanna drive around the falls as I read that it's hard to get a parking place and expensive fee too.. also traffic.. pfffufff enough with the traffic.. we prepare to walk and enjoy the scene and the weather...

Share your experience when u get back Stace...

Clifton Hill (the food again) wasn't that high like some people said. Not far from the Marriot there's a casino place with alot of restaurant / fast food , the price not too expensive either (one of the restaurant open 24hrs). If you wanna convert your US$ to Can$ go to the casino and change it @ the cashier inside, there's no fee!

We mostly walked (nice weather) but if u wanna go to the butterfly conservatory, aerocar u need to take a bus (the cab fare is outrages!). We took a tour (but not with Niagara Majestic tour, I don't why they never email me back so heck I found other tour who has a SSL in their website. I don't like doing transaction over the phone) www.NiagaraFallsTours.net (don't forget to give a tip they did a good job). Across the casino place (new casino) is Hilton hotel go to 33rd Fl to have a buffet for lunch only Can$20 the food was great and the desert was to die for! Nice view too..

We took a cab from BUF to our hotel it cost $75 and from Marriot back to BUF was Can$75 (asked the concierge they gonna call 508 cab). I almost done with my home movie.. it's great! very relaxing..

Next year we'll go to Bali, Indonesia.. someday we'll be back to Niagara Falls again.. maybe..
