Hi l am hoping to visit Gambia in December. Has anyone got views on booking with Karaiba or Senegambia?
Hi Nathan, Kairaba and Senegambia are both good hotels. Kairaba is posh, Seneganbia less so but still nice. Both are situated close to the 'strip' so plenty of bars and eateries within an easy 2 min walk. For feedback from people who have stayed there, look at the reviews section on this site.
Thank you junglefish. Karaiba reviews seem to outweigh Senegambia. However eroding beach by both hotels is disappointment. Might consider another location in order to get a good beach.
Hi, Nathan, erosion is an ongoing problem in TG, but the beaches to the south ( within easy walking distance) are great, unspoilt and miles of sand.
Kololi is a good base for a holiday with loads to see and do, and all the amenities that you need. Both the hotels are good. but if you want to be on an area of unspoilt beach, look at the ones in Bijilo about a mile south.
The Gambia may have eroding beaches but it won't spoil your enjoyment!!
There is more to The Gambia than Sea, sand and sun!!
The Eroding beach doesn't look so pretty but the warmth, and the welcome that the people give you sure makes up for the ugly parts that you might see!!
I am sure if you book it you will have a lovely time!!
Both excellent hotels Senegambia more for younger clients and those wishing to be pretty active Kairaba more for crumblies seeking peace quiet and relaxation imo rgds
You made me laugh "what is crumblies please!"
Crumblies are the "more mature", as opposed to the "younger clients"Edited: 4:47 pm, November 18, 2012
"More Mature what" !!
Trev trimbles, trambles!!
Did you change that as when I answered it I am sure that it did not say that much!!
I may be a crumbly but the first person to insult me by saying I'm mature gets the handbag. I refuse to be 'mature'.
