Has anyone done a day trip from Nosy Komba to Lokobe Nature Reserve? Is this possible? If yes, how'd you do it?
Totally possible lovely day out, I’d say 99.9% of Nosy Be hotels could just call an agent and line this up for you the night before, but if you want to book in advance contact Nosy Be Original.
I know the agencies do get booked up in advance so probably best to prebook.
If visiting Lokobe I would suggest the hikes available that start from Ampasipohy (north side of the national park) compared to Ambanoro or Ampasindava (the southwest side).
Ampasipohy was much more enjoyable with what felt like, to me, a more natural and raw experience. I accessed this by car the town called Ambatozavary and the hiked along the beach which was lovely, (or you can hire a small boat) to take you the remainder of the way (recommended if the tide is coming in).
Here is a link to the exact place I suggest you get dropped off: https://www.google.com/maps/place/13%C2%B023'18.6%22S+48%C2%B020'28.4%22E/@-13.38849,48.3406459,235m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x2213b8b48d2f6f45:0xda6bbd0f8ce421dc!2sAmbatozavary,+Madagascar!3b1!8m2!3d-13.3672281!4d48.3159131!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d-13.3884898!4d48.3412289
Ambanoro or Ampasindava felt, to me, more commercial and less exciting in general.
