Whales

Will we still be able to go whale watching from Nosy be or Nosy komba or would we be better staying at Ile Sainte Marie? We will be there in early August.

You can go whale watching from either of those places during the peak whale-watching season in August. We recommend that you choose a good operator like Baleines Randeau on Nosy Be or the CetaMada program on Ile Sainte Marie, run out of the Princesse Bora hotel.

There are plenty of whales around Nosy Be and Nosy Komba in season. Sometimes they come very close, I saw a couple from my accommodation at Komba last October.

August is peak whale season, whales can be seen on either side of Madagascar.

Its too late I think. You may see one but definitely most would have migrated south by then

November is too late. They are more or less gone by mid to late October.
