It was warm enough to swim when I was there in Sept. (first two weeks) 2006. Ngala was quite warm mid-day. Warmer than Phinda.

Cold fronts (with cold temperatures and/or wind and/or rain) come up from the Antarctic and hit Cape Town in winter and proceed up the east coast. Most of the weaker fronts peter out before they move into KwaZulu-Natal. The stronger ones bring cold weather to the entire country and snow to the Drakensberg.

Between cold fronts, the days are really nice.

The answer to your question is maybe.
