should I be concerned for my safety in Farmington?

My objective is to make a purchase via auction, fly into Albuquerque, drive to Farmington, make the transaction, package up the item (bicycle), ship it via UPS, drive back to Albuquerque and fly out the next day. After doing some research on Farmington, should I be concerned for my safety?

Safety from what? You live in Northern CA and are concerned about a small city in New Mexico? I think you have nothing to worry about.

It's undivided 4 lane...long, dark & animal infested, with few services... Additional problems are as it exceeds 7,000 feet in places tired drivers can doze off...There is also the problem of New Mexico's continuing DWI problem... If, you have had a long day ... don't ... carracar

Hello,

As a Farmington residence the crime rate is relatively the same in other parts of the states.. Most crime rates that occur in our city are within the homeless population and only within those boundaries of their group.. Although downtown Farmington is a nice place to shop most of that area is populated by homeless people.. Most tend to stick to themselves and so no one should be afraid to shop, eat or hang out in the downtown area.. Enjoy your stay.
