Need help, Bali honeymoon villa, Sept 2014

Hi,

My fiancee and I are looking at Bali as a honeymoon destination. It will be in Sept 2014 and we'd like to stay for 10 nights.

Ideally, we would like a private 1 bedroom villa and be self catering as we'd like the privacy and aren't big fans of a large hotel atmosphere. We would also like to be as close to the beach as possible (preferably on it). We have never been to Bali before so not sure where would be best to get what we are looking for.

We basically want something that is very relaxed, beautiful and beachy. We would like somewhere where we can eat out if we feel like it and enjoy good food and drink, and go for scenic walks. We would like to be able to perhaps have a couple of trips out and see a little culture if we choose to but that's not the be all and end all as it's mainly about being somewhere beautiful and relaxing.

We don't have a massive budget and so were wondering if there were any packages but haven't come across any yet.

Does anyone have any advice on where to stay bearing in mind that we want a villa?

Any help appreciated,

Leila

Hi Leila

Can you please specify what your budget actually is? This helps immensely for people giving recommendations as everyone has a different idea of what a small/medium/large budget is.

Also have you done any research at all into what area you think you may like to stay? Bali is really quite large and one may have a very different holiday experience depending on where one stays.

Based on the above though I would say you're probably not looking to stay in kuta or legian. These areas are very busy, the beach is not pristine white sand and has many hawkers. Seminyak also busy but many villas located down little gangs (lanes) and dependent in budget this may suit but unless you're wanting to pay a premium you won't be directly on the beach. I've got little experience of other areas like Sanur and Nusa Dua.

Going away from the main tourist areas to somewhere like candidasa or Amed may be worth consideration.

Good luck
