What happened to the Bali Deli?

Have just been back in the Deli after a 10 tear gap and was quiet disappointed with how it has changed. Not such a good choice of cold cut meats and we were the only people in there. What changed?

I'm not sure about the Bali Deli but I've noticed a lot of things in Seminyak have changed.

I now stay in Sanur but after five years of not staying in Seminyak I did a day/night trip back there.

Everything in Jl Tanduk Camplung had changed. The only thing the same was my old hotel, but it was now sorrounded by skyscraper resorts next door.

Andrew P:

Truth is I was intoxicated at the time and still recovering from walking on the dazzling new footpath.

Oh by the way 1 minute into the walk on new footpath saw tourist in front of me nearly head for a big fall after his thong clipped the edge of a poorly placed pit cover.

This cofirned what I already know Balinese cant do footpaths: new or old!

Across the road from my old hotel was nothing; now 2 buildings 3 plus storeys high, couldn't see any higher in the sky as was pitch black at the time.

You get my point: by Bali standards, skyscrapers.

Interesting, I consider Jalan Camplung Tanduk as the border of Legian. For me, Jalan Kayu Aya, Seminyak is "central" and IMHO is a great location with so much on offer in the vicinity.

Yes, Bali Deli on Jalan Kunti is not as good as it used to be.

I stopped in at Bali Deli a couple weeks ago and was very disappointed. Compared badly to what I remember from a few years back. Large areas of empty shelves in the shop.

I’m with Balirunner after spending a week in Sanur before my time in Seminyak I much prefer Sanur these days. Popular supermarket in Sanur reminds me of what Bali Deli used to be like

There's a great deli at Cafe Batu Jimbar, Sanur.
