Addo Availability During the World Cup

As you may be aware much of SANParks accommodation has been prebooked by MATCH (the fifa booking company). This includes nearly all the main Kruger Camps in the southern area of the park and most of the central camps, such as Satara, Letaba and Olifants, have subsequently become booked.

The situation was the same with Addo with virtually no accommodation availability on any World Cup Dates.. However some of us pointed out that much of this accommodation would be later released as MATCH were trying to sell SANParks accommodation at about three times standard pricing, as part of "packages" - which at these prices they would never sell!

In the last week this has started to happen - at least for Addo. A lot of accommodation has been released back to SANParks. There is now availability for virtually all world cup dates in Addo at standard pricing - which is fantastic value. A chalet for two people with private bathroom, airconditioning and a private terrace overlooking the Game area is avaiable at R810 per night.

Addo is one of the best parks in South Africa for a first timer coming on safari - as many coming for the World Cup will be. It has some of the best Elephant viewing in Southern Africa with a population of close to 600 elephants. In addion excellent Lion sightings, Hyena Packs, rare Black Rhino, Buffalo, Zebra, loads of Kudu, Warthogs, Hartebeest & Elands. Jackals, Monkeys, lots of other small mammals and dozens of different birds. Two nights here will give you a great introduction to African wildlife.

However make your reservations soon. This released accommodation will go VERY quickly!!
