Hotels tips and points of interest

Going to be comming to Wildwood from Aug 7-12. Any tips on good hotel to stay in? Prefer budgetary but decent places. Also, cool places to eat, hang out, etc.

Thanks,

Reccomend The Commander Hotel, very clean, smaller motel, 3 floors, kind of quiet, beyond reasonable rates, ocean front and oceanview efficiencies also avl, oceanfront pool, 2 gas grills very clean, 2 sun deck..1 ocean front, 1 street side...they don't advertise much, not sure you will find them on line. Very close to a few good restaurants and bars. The Baywiew, The 2 Mile in which hosts The Crab House and the Two Mile inn Restaurant. There is Axelsons, Marie Nicoles, and the Crest Tavern. Very south Wildwood Crest, just minutes from Cape May. We have been going to WW for years, it's our new favorite place.

There are a couple restaurants located in Wildwood Crest that I HIGHLY recommend.

The first is "Duffy's On-the-Lake". It is located across from Sunset Lake, and the views are incredible. The prices are good and the food is great.

The other is "Alosi's Bistro" which is located at the Pan American Hotel. This is probably one of the fancier places on the island but it is certainly kid friendly. BTW If you eat there you must have the molten lava cake for dessert.

The Four Winds in the Crest is a nice place to stay. Its not luxury accomodations, but its nice, clean, and affordable. Right on the beach, I like the decks with tables and grills overlooking the ocean. The pool is nice and clean, although its heated and wasn't exactly refresing in 90-degree heat, but would be nice if it was a little cooler in the 70s or low 80s. We stayed there for the first time last year and are returning this August. I had no complaints at all about the place.

We just got back from a long weekend at the Adventurer in the Crest. An older but immaculate and well maintained hotel with a great location - right on the beach at the end of the boardwalk. They have a good restaurant on the ground floor with outdoor tables that overlook the ocean. They are #4 rated on TripAdvisor and are reasonably priced for oceanfront. My full review should be posted in a couple days. Have fun and hope you have nice weather.
