Irene aftermath

Up on Long Island and wondering what the heck is happening to our Ocean City home and the island. Got an email from Fox Realty with this link http://www.foxocnj.com/ where an agent who stayed behind was filling reports. Also included a link to a web cam on Oves Restaurant on 4th and Boardwalk and the pictures look good!

Frank ... heard that all is okay ... the place is just like we left it ... and we're at Third -- between Atlantic and Ocean .... our daughter went down today to spend some quality beach time before heading back to college -- AGAIN -- since classes were postponed ... she said that it was beautiful ... and that there was even a place to park infront of the house !!!! Starting the Holiday weekend early .... headed down Wednesday night ....

Enjoy !!!

What did you find at your house and the neighborhood FranK? We were at our house on Cape Cod and it was strictly a wind event. Since we keep our trees pruned we just had lots of 'sticks' in the yard to clean up the next day.

Hope all is well with you and everyone in OCNJ post Irene.

I have to say, that if you didn't look at the beach you'd have no idea that Irene visited our part of OC! Even driving down the GSP there is little to tell that we had a hurricane pass just off shore! Have seen no tress down, no gutters hanging, no sidewalk heaves...nothing! Our house came through with flying colors as did all our neighbors' homes.

The beach did take some damage - not as bad as the un-named noreaster a couple of falls ago when we had a 6 foot cliff on the beach, but there is a lot of sand missing and the dunes are smaller. I understand from a neighbor that the far south end of OC's beaches were badly eroded when he was down there Friday afternoon.
