Nice stop on our way from nyc to cm


Next august we travel from new york to cape may. ( 150 miles )

We concider to stop in edvin b. Forsythe nwr for a while.... Would you recommend this or perhaps a different stopover or rather go the direct way to cape may?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, it would be a nice stop. Also right there is a nice little museum, The Noyes Museum and nearby is SMithville Village. All three would make a nice break for you...

BUT, the wildlife drive at Forsythe is still closed because of Hurricane Sandy damage, so check before you go to see if it has been repaired.

EBF wildlife drive is 70% repaired and will reopen in the next few weeks. there will certainly be plenty of wildlife for you to see and enjoy in august. some of that wildlife will undoubtedly attempt to enjoy you as it is the peak of greenhead season. If you go you can keep the window shut and the AC on, but that doesn't give you the best wildlife viewing. you must otherwise be prepared with plenty of bug repellant, hope for a windy day. I would plan to wear a light long sleeve shirt and long pants to use less spray. the greenheads are mostly out on the salt marsh, if you just hike in the upland areas they are less of an issue.
