cafe or deli for picnic takeout?

I am going to meet two old friends from San Francisco tomorrow somewhere in Peterborough, NH. Can anyone suggest a nice cafe that is easy for us to find? ( None of us has ever been there before.) If by chance it is not raining, we may decide to get deli food and picnic. Is there a pond or a great park or some other natural setting where we could eat at a picnic table? Thanks.

Happy Solo.

Cafes would be either Twelve Pine or Aesop's Table inside Toadstool Bookshop (Twelve Pine and Aesop's Table are next door to each other) or Nature's Green Grocer (NGG) in West Peterborough. All have outdoor and indoor seating. Twelve Pine and Aesop's Table are in Depot Square which is a great pedestrian friendly downtown shopping area while Nature's Green Grocer is an old Mill Building along the Nubanusit River just two miles up Main/Union Street.

If the weather holds, you can either sit at any of the three places (really the outdoor seating at NGG is very nice sitting on the patio with the river twenty feet below and you would not have to go anywhere). Other outdoor picnic areas would be Depot Park which is right behind Aesop's Table and Twelve Pine, Putnam Park which is across Grove Street from Depot Square or Edward MacDowell Dam/Lake which is right near NGG.

I live here, if you have any other questions...please ask!
