6 adults celebrating 2 birthdays in July on a Sunday night after a visiting day at camp. Any suggestions?

Based on what you said, I'd suggest Moat Mountain, Red Parka or Cafe Noche for dinner/drinks. Both have good food, good atmosphere, and would be great for socializing with friends. The advantage to Red Parka is they might have live music as well.

Might also consider:

May Kelly's Irish Pub, Rt 16, North Conway .... just north of the business district....

Classic Irish fare (corned beef and cabbage, shepher's pie, bangers and mash, fish and chips) and some great brews on tap....including Smithwick's! and some great desserts too....

Sunday afternoon's (think it's 4:00 to 6:00PM but wouldn't swear to it)they host a jam session in the bar -- some great Irish music in an informal setting...and their outdoor deck can be great if the weather cooperates.

Could be a great place for a birthday bash....

Check it out for yourself at:

It's on our "must visit" list (along with the Red Parka and Delaney's) anytime we're in North Conway.

Whatever you do, DO NOT go to the Hillbilly BBQ restaurant on route 16. We made that mistake one night when we were hungry and just dropped in without checking on it first.

Pure tourist trap serving horrible overpriced food. Shoe leather is close to BBQ that the crap they served us.

2 first time posters in 1 day who have nothing good to say, no trip report, etc. Just not alot of forum cred.

Always looking to see new folks who want to contribute- just nice when it is a fair, balanced and complete review and not just some slam based upon 1 meal.

For a special occasion I would recommend Libby's Bistro in Gorham or The White Mountain Cider House in Glen. Both fine dining, terrific food & staff. Lots of creative dinner choices, great atmosphere, good wine.... We live in the area and these are our two favorites.

I'm surprised no one mentioned May Kelley's. It lookslike nothing form the road, abd it might not fit the bill for these folks, but I don't see it mentioned anywhere on Trip Advisor. We love going for the unexpected outdoor deck and gorgeous view of Cathedral Ledge. Some Irish specialties are better than others, but it's worth going on a warm clear day just to sit outside, have a meal and and a beer!
