Atlantis Tuscany Suites Vs Peppermill Concierge-3 Questions

We are going to Reno and are considering either the Tuscany Suites at the Peppermill or the Concierge Floor at the Atlantis. We need an additional bed for our son, and both cannot guarantee cots, although the Peppermill did say if upon arrival they do not have a cot they will refund our money. While we would prefer to stay at the Atlantis, they will not return our deposit if a cot is not available - that of course does not bode well for us. Both properties cannot guarantee adjoining rooms.

1.So my questions are: which property do you think will have better customer service and go the extra length upon arrival to help us either a cot or adjoining room?

2. Which property has the better food

3. Which property is less smokey?

We normally stay in 4-5 star properties and realize Reno is not Vegas, but would like some input on deciding which property would be better for us.

Thanks

The Tuscany tower has adjoining rooms that are separated from the hallway by a single lockable door. That's probably what you are needing. I would imagine the Atlantis has similar set-ups.

I'm not trying to be biased, because the Pepp does treat me real well, but since you're springing for the Tuscany rooms, I can't forsee that being a problem, at check-in. I've always found their service to be the best in town. I just can't see the cot issue as being a problem at either place, once you get there. But then, I've never needed a cot before. If nothing else, getting two adjoining rooms in the "regular" tower seems possible. If you go this route, the Pepp rooms are the better of the two.

As for food, Atlantis has the better buffet. Pepp has the better ethnic food. Edge to Atlantis, overall.

Less smokey? They're even. Some parts of each casino are smokier than others. But Atlantis' skybridge is entirely smoke-free, and has excellent seafood.

They're only a 1/2 mile walk apart, so I would certainly visit both.

Wondering if two queen sized beds are not sufficient? You also don't note how old your son is - certainly a small child could share a queen with one of the parents.

That said, the Concierge rooms are smaller than the Tuscany suites, which have more than enough room to add a cot or rollaway bed.

Agree with Wolfdog on his points.

The Tuscany Tower at the Peppermill has better customer service that you are looking for. When you check in at the front desk, if you go to the left and up the escalator and go left you will be in the Tuscany area which is smoke free and beautiful and you can look out the windows and see the beautiful pool area. As far as the rooms go, they will do everything in their power to make you stay comfortable to include the cot that you need or the one king bedroom has a very comfortable couch. Hope this was helpful. Ty in California.

As others have noted above, the Tuscany Suites at the Peppermill will have more room for a rollaway (cot) than the Concierge Rooms at Atlantis.

That being said, I would encourage you to check with the hotels to see if the couch in the room may already be a pull out sofa sleeper. This is very common in many hotel king rooms and if that is the case, you may not need the rollaway after all.

As far as the other two questions go, I prefer the food options at Atlantis. They have an excellent steakhouse for fine dining, one of the best buffets in town, really great seafood and sushi, and the Manhattan Deli is a great option for lunch. I have eaten at the buffet and coffee shop at Peppermill and didn't think they were quite as good as Atlantis.

Both properties are going to be smoky around the gaming areas but I wouldn't say one is worse than the others.

Steve up North:

Peppermill has a service called Private Line Reservation. You must call yourself, identify yourself as a "Private Line" Member, with MC2 Wealth Solutions in Reno (I'll be your host). As for a Private Line Concierge and explain what you need. You may find the things you need this way much easier than the usual on line or phone in query of the type you made. Generally, large resort properties cannot guarantee adjoining rooms, or availability of limited resources like extra beds, etc. which may all be checked out when you arrive. Try this method and make the request directly as a Private Line member. I've lived here since 1992. I enjoy both properties, but the Mill has it hands down for exceptional service, amenities.
