Driving from South Lake Tahoe to Reno during a Snow Storm

Is there one route that would be the preferred route when leaving South Lake Tahoe for Reno during a snowstorm? I am leaving tomorrow.

Definitely US 50, to Carson City. Then north on 395.

Sounds like you have access to internet...check Nevada Dept of Transportation and their handy dandy road conditions map. As of 9:22am, 50 to 395 looks like road is "open with no controls"
