What is your strategy for playing the slots???

Do you go along with those people who only spend a few minutes at a machine and move on if it doesn't pay out, or do you sit at a machine for hours figuring the odds will eventually be in your favor?

What is your experience with this?

The only strategy to slot machines is put your money in and push the button or pull the handle. What happens from there is totally random.

Personally, if I don't start winning within a few minutes, I move onto another machine.

The whole thing is random tho, there is no possible way to predict a machine which will continue to payoff.

lambkin,

I'm with you, but my husband will sit at one machine for hours. Thing is, he's usually much luckier than I am.

hereinoregon,

Wow, do I have to do that every time? I hope I don't get arrested!

Sorry, still feeling silly this morning. Actually I do have a strategy. I put in coins for three spins (usually max credits but sometimes I cheap out) If I get anything in the first three spins I play three more and so on. I don't always stick to this but usually I do. Actually this worked very well in Reno last summer. I won ~$2000. No kidding! It was much more than I gambled and I gambled a lot! Would not have been able to play as much if we had not been winning......I LOVE slot machines!

I think I would "air kiss" the quarter as you don't know where it's been :)

I used to be a "nester"- staying at a machine until the "glazed over" syndrome took over.

Changed that to playing a few minutes at a machine- if I am lucky to hit on a winning streak played for a bit- when it turns cold gathered up the small/med winnings and ran.

Around here we only have the Indian reservation casinos. They are small enough to physically change the computer chip on weekend mornings. We saw this and asked what they were doing.

So we are thrilled to walk away with small/med wins.

Most of the time if I don't win I just move on. I stay @ those poker slots a little longer than most b/c I like playing those. If I get up, I usually leave. I don't play the slots anymore though.

play video poker at the bar, be very courteous and tip well and get as many free drinks as possible, if I get lucky have a chat with a hooker.

One more thing -Realize this, if you play on a machine for some time and decide to leave. Say a person comes up right after you and makes their bet on that same machine and it hits--- it wasn't going to be yours anyway.

The RNG is spitting out number combos whether it is being played or not.

As logical as this is it is still hard to take- especially if you look back and see that they hit. Been there done that.

For me I have learned not to put more than $10-$20 in any one machine. The jackpots that I've won I've only had that amount of money in the machine.
