What to wear in Las Vegas

I am travelling to Las Vegas next week and I am wondering what sort of clothes to take. Do people dress smart or casual or night? What sort of clothes do you wear during the day? Will the weather be hot or cold? Any comments would be gladly received.

I'm going tomorrow and from what I can tell it will be warm during the day and chilly at night. Have a great time.

If you are a club goer - definitely dress up! If you like to eat at really nice restaurants, bring appropriate clothes as well (although even some of the nicer restaurants will let you in in practically anything you are wearing). As for just walking around, having drinks, gambling, I think you will find it more casual than you expect. Anything goes! Have a blast.

We are going on Sunday for our third trip and I'm bringing comfortable clothes and shoes for the day time. Sweat pants, capris, zip up hoodies are handy for layering because it will probably be warm outside but cool inside, t-shirts and tanks.

At night I like to dress up, but thats just me. If we are just going to gamble and have a few drinks I'll put on some dark jeans with a nice pair of heels and a nice top. If we are going to a nice dinner and a show I might put on a pair of nice pants or skirt with a nice top. You can go casual at night too though. Anything and everything goes.

As far as the weather goes it looks like it's going to be pretty nice during the day, not pool weather though and pretty cool at night.

if it's sunny, then it can get pretty warm during the day. but at night the temperature just drops! brrr! definately need a heavy sweater and/or jacket for night-time. and the casinos are usually pretty chilly.

honestly, like the other posters, just about ANYTHING goes in vegas. if you're going somewhere nice for dinner or club, yes, nicer clothes is a good idea. but if you're just giong to be schlepping around from casino to casino, dress for comfort. i always find it helpful to carry a large totebag or knapsac to store my sweater inside it. incase i get cold inside the casino.

You will see anything and everything in Vegas- from torn jeans to formal wear. The only places I can think of that really have a dress code are the clubs. Some restaurants post dress codes but they are usually not enforced. Vegas is a very casual town-much to the dismay of some people. No matter what you wear there are going to be people more casually dressed and others that are more formally dressed than you so wear what you are comfortable wearing. Some people like to dress up at night while others don't bother. I always like to bring a black skirt/black pants and a silk blouse -they are appropriate for anything or anywhere.

Bring clothes that can be layered. I was there last week and it was warm during the day and I felt it was warm (for me) at night. A sweater was all I needed. Bring some tops with short/long sleeves, a mediumweight sweater and a lined jacket. Oh- and I did get to sit by the pool in a bathing suit. Just be sure you bring the most comfortable pair of shoes you own-you will definitely need those shoes!!!

You'll see a whole lot of everything! I think the guidelines above are appropriate.

Personally, I try and bring layers, it's cold in the casino (and at night this time of year) so I always have a sweater or light blazer to wear. For footware, it's about comfort. I try and bring my most comfortable treking shoes for the daytime and nicer looking shoes that I can still walk around in at night.

One thing I have noticed lately is (specially in High end casinos) that people who are dressed smart or business casuall, get more attention (from everyone) than people who are dresses "too casual".

Waitresses get to you faster, you get into bars and clubs faster, and so on.

I never walk into any casino dressed too casual anymore.

Like it or not, people still judge you by your clothes

If you dress well you will be noticed by the casino in a good way.

Of course if you dress like a bum you will be noticed as well but in a bad way.

I was there last week and as usual, absolutely anything goes. I saw sequins at breakfast and shorts and T-shirt at midnight.

If I was going to a show or a nice meal at night, then I changed into smart trousers and top, otherwise it was casual all the way.

My tip is not to overpack! You will find that you do a LOT of walking, even if it's just from the lobby to your hotel room : )

I find that I never wear what I have brought with me, just what I've bought there and I get to bring a case load of clothes shopping home with me! With the excellent £-$ rate ENJOY!
