Paradise is similar to a gated community or just a plain neighborhood which has no legal standing such as its own taxes, or police department or fire department.
I can see where someone from a foreign country would have difficulty understanding. Ohio is quite different than Pennsylvania. PA. is a commonwealth instead of a state, has cities and boroughs which are similar to Ohio Villages. Pennsylvania has cities with police, then state police but also police constables, and justices of the peace instead of municipal or county judges. No sales tax on clothes but you will pay sales tax on a Quarter pounder with cheese or french fries.
Just as an FYI, the official southern city limit is Sahara. SLS is not within the city limits, Bonanza gift shop is.
Thanks Zeke, your answer makes sense and it provides more info to search from.
And don't get me wrong, when I saw a concert listed at Mgm Grand Arena at Paradise Nevada I thought they were trying to be funny because Las Vegas is paradise to many of us. But then I noticed it being used more frequently and decided to look it up and found out there is a geographic area called Paradise in Nevada.
I scratch my head and thought all these years I lived in a lie because I thought I was enjoying Viva Las Vegas!! When it is actually Viva Paradise!! I got confused and didn't know if they're both neighbor cities, a borough within a city or what?!?
Most hotel/casinos post their mail address as Las Vegas Nevada so I better thought asking here.
I'm glad this enlightened more people than just myself ;)Edited: 6 years ago
That explains why my the app on my iPhone kept given me the weather for Paradise.
I stayed at South Point Casino last year, and I believe it has a Paradise address.

That should be easy for the app - "Sunny, slight breeze, a few lovely clouds, no bad weather ever... I mean, it's "Paradise," right?

No no one uses a PAradise address, although you could write that with the correct zip and it would be fine, just no one does.
