Orleans Hotel & Casino--tell me everything!

I have now changed my hotel 3 times...FINALLY think I have found a good deal on a room at the ORLEANS. It seems that when I was looking at other hotels, all I SAW on the board was stuff about Orleans, but now I can't find ANYTHING about it. Has anyone stayed there? How was it? Nice??? is the shuttle to the strip a big deal?? tell all!!!

QUICKIE

1. Rooms are great for the price

2. heard the buffet is good..if only I could of found iot last time

3. Brendans irish Pub is fun

4. Terrable Mikes is suposed to have great burgers and cheap

5. Do not eat the Canal Street cafe (bad service and lousy food)

Basically cheap rates for the rooms that is why I have come back twice here. Location is close enough to the strip to drive. I have seen people walk..I wouldnt cuz Im lazy but it is possable. they have a shuttle that takes u to their sister property the barbary Coast on the strip. Good choice if u find a good rate. I have stayed here for $45 and $25! I will return when I see these rates again. These were WEEKEND rates!

It is fantastic, and there are over 350 reviews about it. Just click on the left hand side on the tabl "Las Vegas Hotel" scroll down to the # 6 rated Hotel and read away. It is where I send family and freinds when MC is booked.

Just guessing here but I think Looking = caca. Am I right??

Orleans has good gambling, helpful dealers, low minimums, lots of bars and restaurants. Nice pool, fitness center $10 per day(Who wants to workout when you're on vacation??) Bowling alley, movie theaters, Arena for shows, Ice Hockey, Arena football. Join their players club and you'll get offers for free rooms throughout the year.

I've stayed at the Orleans half a dozen times. everything said above is true. If you want a good room at a bargain price, this is your place.

<<<5. Do not eat the Canal Street cafe (bad service and lousy food)>>>

Don't confuse the Canal Street cafe with the Courtyard Cafe, which is a 24-hour restaurant which is great for breakfast and lunch.

<<<is the shuttle to the strip a big deal?? >>>

The shuttle to the strip (Barbary Coast, another Coast casino) runs often during the day and is not a big deal. I've taken it several times. I don't know how late it runs.

A word about the casino: I hear a lot of people post about the "nice little casino" at the Orleans. Well, the casino at the Orleans is HUGE! There are few casinos in Vegas that are bigger (MGM is, not sure of any others larger than the Orleans). They have everything there, including a players club that can help you get rated to get comps. They also tend to have smaller minimum tables than many strip casinos. If you're iterested in trying Poker, the Orleans has one of the larger rooms in Vegas.

In case you get tired of the regular Vegas stuff, the Orleans as a multi-screen movie theatre that shows first-run movies, a bowling alley, and a big arcade where you can lose quarters by the pocketful trying to master any number of arcade games.

The Orleans is NOT the Four Seasons or Mandalay Bay. But if you're looking for a nice hotel at a reasonable price, it may be for you.

Have a great time!

According to rate Las Vegas it is ranked #1 overall just ahead of the Golden Nugget.

We stayed at the Orleans all last week during our first trip to Vegas, and it was a great hotel/casino. The rates were awesome, the people were very friendly, and there was tons to do there. We only had the buffet one day for breakfast, but it was very very good. We had a rental car, so it didn't matter that it was off the strip, but even if we didn't have a rental car, they still have the shuttle that goes to their other properties.

I would highly recommend the Orleans to anyone looking for a nice place to stay!

I LOVE the Orleans, just got back, and again stayed there. It is without a doubt the best hotel value for the money. The casino is huge, friendly, and I saw $3 tables on a Friday night(that is almost unheard of). The buffet I rate as GREAT for Breakfast, and very good for other meals. Terrible Mike's does make a great burger. Seattle Coffee, Kate's Ice Cream, and Subway add to the options. There are a lot of other things going on there that you should be aware of. The Movie theater, bowling alley, and hockey arena do draw large outside crowds on event nights, but that really didnt bother us(saw the Globetrotters there last week.). The child care center is a VERY nice facility, safe and clean if your kids are ages 3-10 or something like that.

Now, being off the strip is the thing you will need to be comfortable with. I always rent a car as cheap as theya re in vegas(taxi from the airport costs the same as a day's car rental), so the shuttle is not an issue. I have heard mixed reviews about the shuttle, and I have seen it crowded. But it runs, and it is free. For me, I'd rather not be on a shuttle's schedule while on vacation. But if you are ok with that, then The Orleans is clearly a great choice.

I like everything about the Orleans. Rooms are very nice and great value for the money, the casino is not that large and easily manageable, buffet was good (especially the boiled crawdads) and the movie theatre and pool are nice diversions. Staff are all very friendly and the times I've been there it has been a good mix of locals and tourists gambling there. It's a fun atmosphere.
