Sahara Buffet...Vegas man???...Anyone???

Any comments on the buffet at this hotel. We are seeing a show there ( drifters, platters)...and thinking about eating there before the show.

This buffet generally comes in as one of the worst in town. The only tolerable meal might be breakfast. I would look around as there are other options near there.

Nurse,

One word about you're thinking of eating at the Sahara Buffet. DON'T. I know technically that is 2 words. Truly a contraction. But do yourself a favorite. Do not even consider eating there. They have a very poor selection of very bad food. Eat at their coffee shop, steakhouse or NASCAR grill if you feel the need to give them more of your money, but pass on the buffet. It is one of the worst on the Strip. In case you didn't understand, STAY AWAY FROM THE BUFFET. ;-)

... I'm starting to get a perverse desire to visit the Sahara buffet just to see if it could really be as bad as everyone says!

Hey, isn't the Peppermill close by the Sahara? That would be a nice affordable place for a pre-show dinner, don't you think?

Drake,

Peppermill is on the way to the Sahara from most casinos on the Strip. It is in between the Wynn and Riviera. A favorite coffee shop of a lot of the people with whom I work.

We just visited the Peppermill and LOVED it. i was even thinking about posting on it....Funny thing is for the price I have found the breakfast at Sahara tolerable, but no other meal.

...what I'm thinking of now is a one-day tour of the worst of the worst food in Vegas.

We'll start with the Sahara buffet breakfast... then take a stroll down to the Westward Ho for a couple of those "Ho Dogs" I keep reading about, washed down with six or so $.99 beers ... then on to the Boardwalk for their famous "24-Hour Surf Buffet."

I still need to fill in mid-morning and afternoon snack-time, but nevertheless, this could be a day to remember!

Oh Drake, please, please do it. i'll personally sponsor 5$. you could start up a fund. I'd pay to see that on tivo! The worst of vegas 2005.

heres some more things to grab during the day

1.tropicana garden buffet.....you could gaze out at the serene gardens of the tropicana while you regurgitate your refried beans.

2..50c draft at slots o fun. carouse at the 3$ blackjack tables while struggling to get drunk on your 15th beer

3.go to coyote ugly and after one hour in line watch in amazement as you begin to see inside the club and realize that its a lot like the line!

I'm thinking it could be like the movie "Leaving Las Vegas" with Nick Cage, but with food instead of booze...
