Imperial Palace or Flamingo

I'm finally going to Vegas May 8th!!! Never been there before. We want to stay center strip, but are on a budget. The Flamingo is about $100 more for the 4 night stay. Is it worth it or our we better off staying at the IP and spending the money elsewhere? My wife likes the nice pool, but is it too crowded to enjoy it even Monday - Thursday? Poker and blackjack gamblers mainly. Any info you have is appreciated.

they had some sort of virus going around at the Flamingo last year and didnt bother informing the guests..That is one and only reason I will never book a room with them! Stay at the IP or better yet stay at a quality hotel and casino like the Bally's or try Harrahs.

For the extra $25 per night, Flamingo is hands-down a better choice for you because of the fun pool scene. It won't be too crowded to enjoy mid-week in May. if I were in the middle of a North Dakota winter, the idea of hanging out poolside at the Flamingo would be just the ticket to get through the rest of it.

I liked the Flamingo so much I booked My wedding there in April . as far as price and package they had more bang for the buck.

Don't listen to the garbage about the virus. It was actually spread at other hotels too, including downtown. I stayed at The Flamingo just after the news about the virus and it has been totally eradicated.

You will not go wrong if you are budget conscious and want to stay center strip. As long as you don't expect Bellagio or Venetian quality, then you will do just fine with The Flamingo.

Don't waste your time or money with The IP. First impressions are essential. You can always go back to the IP once you've seen it.....but I doubt it.

We stayed at the IP last year and it was okay. This year, we're staying at the Flamingo.

The IP was clean, we never really encountered any staff to comment on service, and the food was so-so. (We ate at other places most of the time.)

The IP pool bites though. It's pretty much a concrete slab with a hole in the center, filled with water. Not many amenities, definitely nothing much to look at.
