Bringing gambling money home

We recently stayed at Planet Hollywood for 6 nights. We played mostly at PH, but we played at all of the CET casinos. We hit a couple of the Station casinos and some B connected casinos. While we did not bring home more money than we took, the rooms were comped for 5 of the nights and we hardly paid for any food. I did the envelope thing each day for my gambling money and when it was all said and done I brought back close to 40% of what I took. I was content to bring that much back. My wife and I are usually happy if don't lose everything we take and what we bring home it goes back into our gambling drawer. In a perfect world bringing home more than I take would be a great trip but we know that does not happen often. What would you consider a good percentage to come home with?

I play only what I have set aside to lose. We have a stack of "vegas cash" that we take back and forth from home to vegas, vegas to home. It's $ that we haven't had in our daily budget at home for a long time so we don't miss it. Hubby and I both play mostly poker and it's not too hard on the bankroll. If my poker wins can offset what I expect to lose on slots and I break even, I'm happy. Sometimes I make enough to cover a chunk of the food or other costs. Sometimes I've paid for the slots, food, and flights. Occasionally, we have a bad streak of a trip at the tables and we have to replenish our "vegas cash". I do that by stuffing away a little off each pay cheque until the next trip.

If I don't come home completely broke and needing to build my bankroll over from scratch, I'm happy. I like to have a little seed money left over when I get back. Thankfully, I usually have some seed. I've never really thought about it in percentages.

We do similar to CBub. We have a Vegas fund and all remaining proceeds, win or net of losses, go there when we get back. After we learned to gamble smarter, we found we had to supplement it less and less.
