Rental car

Hi

Do you think i will need a hire car in las Vegas? My family, wife and 2 girls (11,12) will be hiring a car in Anaheim in December then driving to Vegas staying 3 nights. We will drive from there to the Grand Canyon 2 nights. From there we plan to drive to San Diego and back to LA. We have 15 days. I was thinking if I don't need a car in Vegas should I just drop it at the airport then re book it 2 days later. I will be saving about $80 if I drop it off but not sure that is worth the hassle.

Thanks

For me personally, saving $80.00 is definitely not worth the hassle.

Keep the car. Getting to and from the airport to drop off and pick up the car again will probably cost at least half of that savings. If you add in the time it will take for you to do all of that, it just isn't worth it.

Yes, definitely keep the car. The potential cab fares you could use in that time will eat up most of that "savings". Have a great time!

ImaDealer, If you book through a UK/ Australian site there are no drop off fees between Ca, NV, AZ. Because we are not covered by our insurance overseas fees also include all the insurances we need.

We are picking up a car in LA and dropping it in LV. Then we are flying to Sacramento and dropping off in LA.

If you book National through these sites the drop off fee is pegged at $250US no matter where you drop off. We were going to pick up a car in Little Rock and drop it in Philly, the daily rental was higher with National but others were up to $800 drop off fee.

We can't bid on Priceline or other such sites so we international visitors gain on car rentals I guess lololol

There is not always a drop fee, Dealer. Depends on the cities, dates, car companies, and probably other factors.

Mark....Keep the car. Getting a taxi or shuttle from and then back to the rental car center will be more hassle and expense than it's worth. Not to mention the drop off procedure and then another contract and waiting in line. Parking will be free for your rental car at your hotel. Keep the car.

Sounds like a great trip !

But keep the car. It will be a huge pain dropping off and picking it back up. You will at least need a cab for both of those trips, so your savings will be cut in half right there.

Keep the car. That way you can drive to several places worth visiting such as Valley of Fire and of course the outlets.
