Vdara?

Hi, anyone stayed at Vdara?

Like that it's a no smoking hotel.

We are a couple, first timers going in July,

and have two weeks to explore.

I have stayed there and we liked it alot however we are non smokers and very low gamblers so a casino was not important to us.

Most here will not recommend it for first timers since it will not give you the "classic Vegas experience" but I am of the opinion that you can still experience Vegas without staying in a casino hotel.

One knock on the Vdara though is that the pool is scorching hot and I don't know that I would want to experience it in July.

Thanks for your reply SG425

we are also non smokers and very low gamblers,

Looks like a really lovely hotel, shame about the pool,

we like a pool to cool off in when chillin on the loungers.

Might still chance it though!ha

We are thinking about a July trip also and looked at Monte Carlo or Aria as possibilities. Still central but with better pools and amenities and not too expensive.

I would stay again at Vdara just not during pool season.

We stayed in a Panoramic Suite at the Vdara in March this year. Fantastic views, as you would expect. It was the first time we'd stayed in a non-casino property in Vegas and weren't sure we'd like it but it was fine. It's close enough to other casinos anyway, and it was actually quite nice returning to a quieter place at the end of the night..

Never did manage to figure out how all the light switches work though!

I've been to Vegas 4 times and stay at a different hotel each time. Vdara has been my favorite. Only thing is the pool isn't anything spectacular. But the comfort and luxury of the room make it easy to overlook the pool. We had a great view of the Bellagio fountains.

We stayed 10 nights at Vdara last month, our first time in vegas, and loved the place. Non smoking, beautiful rooms, housekeeping and room service were excellent, nice little bar in the lobby, and a 3 minute walk to Aria or Bellagio. Agree the pool is nothing special, but it serves its purpose :)

If you want somewhere that you can get away from the noise/casinos/mess once your 'Vegas day' is done, then Vdara is the place. The rooms are plenty good size, the kitchenette is great, and you're but a small walk away from Bellagio/City Center/Aria.

Thanks for the info everyone.

sigh!! must make a decision soon!

We are booked in at TI but thinking of changing because it seems like

a young pool party place lately!

not what we want really.

Want to get it right as we will be there for two weeks, and don't mind

paying extra for a bit of luxury and no smoke.

so Vdara is looking good.
