6 Night Stay in September

Thinking seriously about finding a deal on a 6 night stay in Vegas this coming September to celebrate Mrs Rodcar's birthday. Not sure if 6 nights is too long our even where to stay.

Don't know a great deal about Vegas but only that it looks a great place to be. Would appreciate any advice on Hotels & flights from the UK. The flight time must be approx 10 hours is that correct.

Also if you stay at a hotel that is staging a show, does that mean that you get a better deal on the show tickets.

Thanks & be gentle with me :-)

Try and stay mid strip ballys ,paris, bellagio, harrahs, caesars etc, book directly with hotel, not travel agent. If price goes down you can ring and get lower rate. Book now even 2-3 hotels and as you get nearer the date you can pick your hotel, most have a 24hr cancellation policy.Re shows you will not get a cheaper ticket but you will get the best seats in the house.Read this forum daily for tips.Read the hotel and dining section for ideas on these ,and finally use the search function on this site(top left hand side)

Flying time from UK is about 10hrs on a direct flight. If you've never been to Vegas before there's a lot of different opinions on just how long is the perfect stay. A lot of people prefer a 3/4 day trip (if you're coming from the UK maybe a couple of days in LA in addition) simply because Vegas can be so overpowering that any more and you start to go crazy! On the other hand people can stay for a week no problem. It might be better to be cautious. If you like it (and you will, you will...) then you'll be back again with more of idea what to see and do etc.

You'll need to decide if you're going to book a package through a tour operator or book your flights and hotels yourself. Other UK posters will no doubt give advice on this. In this internet age we live in it's easy to book yourself but you may find a better deal through a package. If you do decide to book it independently, go to all the hotels' websites and check out any promotions they've got (September's won't actually be listed just yet) and sign up for email updates. Also check this forum regularly as special promo codes are often posted on here.

The selection of hotels in Vegas is immense. Far too much to help you decide just now without knowing your approx budget and just what your tastes are. Have a look a the reviews on the main TripAdvisor site and the many trip reports on here.

I'm afraid hotel guests get no preferential treatment for show tickets whatsoever (unless you're a high rolling gambler who the hotel give free tickets to as a thank you for their 'action'). Virtually all show tickets can be booked online and collected when you arrive in Vegas. For the less popular shows you can usually pick up half price tickets on the day. All this info can be found on this forum by using the search facility and looking at old posts.

Enjoy planning your trip!
