taxis

I was just looking on the estimator for taxi costs. It gives you a break down of the fair. Says 15 percent is added to the cost for tip. Is this true?

That's about the norm. I usually give 15% and round up to the nearest dollar if there are no problems or issues.

So you tip 15 percent on top of the 15 percent they atomically charge to the fair?

The fare estimator site that you used includes the tip, not the taxi driver, if that's what you're asking. You do not have to tip if that's your policy. Most people don't have a problem tipping their cab drivers.

I don't think they charge 15% automatically on top of the fare for a tip. I don't think I've seen that. What makes you think they do that?

If they charge 15% automatically, I would question that. What if you didn't like the service and wanted to tip less?

If they are charging you automatically for a tip, then I would give them exactly 15% and not a penny more. That's not how it should be done.

Just curious how you are getting the information about an automatic tip.

The taxi meter DOES NOT include a gratuity. The program you are look at may. If you do not pay any additional amount above the meter the driver does not receive a tip from the fare collected.

m.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=LV&from=McCarran+International+Airport+(LAS)&to=ARIA+Resort+%26+Casino I posted the link because I am not sure if I am being clear on what I am saying. When I go to a restaurant and they automatically ad the tip I do not tip on top of it. So I think I am confused would not be the first time lol

The site you used adds the tip, but when in Vegas, the fare will NOT include a tip! 15% is the recommended tip, some give a little more for exceptional service (if provided)!

It's just a website that you can use to approximate what cab fare might be. They include a 15% tip, again just to give travelers an idea of estimated cost for planning purposes.

The cab driver will tell you the exact cost of the fare as shown on the meter, then you can add whatever tip that you see fit.

You don't mention which "estimator" you're using. It 's possible they are including an estimated tip in an effort to provide the entire cost of the trip. No one adds a tip automatically to a taxi fare in Las Vegas.

Use the official taxi site for fare estimates.

O.K. then you are in good shape then. So just tip them 15% (or more or less based on service) added to the fare.
