The Aladdin is undergoing a major renovation to Planet Hollywood. There is different post on here if it is a problem or not. Type Aladdin in search to see some of them. My wife and I have stayed at The Monte Carlo 2 times and are staying again in June. We love it there.

Depends... (don't you hate that answer?!)

Monte Carlo would be my leaning because of:

- some of the best/most comfortable beds in Vegas.

- close to NYNY/Bellagio

- has a WIDE variety of eating establishments to choose from.

- good pool area and not too smokey in the casino

Alladin has it's benefits:

- close to MGM and Paris/Bellagio

- You may get lucky and get a view of the fountains from your room

- great shopping area

MC is beside a construction zone and Alladin is a construction zone so they are even on that count.

Probably the best solution for me would be the Concierge level of the Monte Carlo.

That's just my 2 cents worth :-)

Which group of neighboring hotels interest you most? Base your selection on that

Monte Carlo - NYNY, MGM, Mandalay Bay, Excalibur and Luxor

Aladdin - Bellagio, Paris/Bally's, Bellagio, Barbary Coast and Caesars'

NANCY: When is your trip??

I'm leaving in 6 days and staying at the Aladdin...1st time there(in That hotel)

The year before last we stayed @ Monte Carlo 2 yrs. in a row...We really liked everything about the MC...But there not too generous in the comp distribution...

Last year got a great offer from the Hilton..so we stayed there...it was nice ,but I didnt like being off strip..

This year wanted to try somewhere different..so I chose the Aladdin...before I knew about the changeover & construction!!!

Hoping for the best...And a great view!

Will be writing a long trip report upon our return..with lots of info..

Good Luck!!!Annie

Nancy: When are you planning to go? The last few reviews of the Aladdin barely mention the construction at all so if you are going soon I'd say the Aladdin. As everyone in here knows I'm a big fan of the Aladdin. We've stayed there 4 times and never have had more than a clogged toilet. Considering that they house 2600 rooms, I think the Aladdin is great!! I've just never been able to warm up to the Monte Carlo casino. It seems like a big square room and I never could find a penny slot machine in there lol. Also not a big fan of Monte Carlo's neighbors (NYNY and the Bellagio) Basically I'm not a fan of any of the MGM properties because I can't win squat at any of them lol. Just my opinion

Stayed at Monte Carlo for three nights in late January 2006. See my review of Monte Carlo. The rooms were spacious and clean. Buffet and cafe restaurant had good breakfasts. Check on pool. I heard pool was closed until May. We were offered pool priveleges at other MGM hotels(Bellagio and MGM) for free. Swam at Bellagio which was beautiful. You have to change in the pool rest room. Monte Carlo called ahead with our names. Some hassle at Bellagio front desk until the pool security desk was called. Then it was ok.

I have not stayed at the MC but I played there, casino not smokey good drink service even on the slots. I liked the Customer service there, so the MC is my choice, you can click to the left of this site on the monte carlo and you can read reviews from people who stayed there.
