Total Rewards Pay with Points

I've been trying to figure out total rewards since I joined, and the one thing I don't understand is the pay with points thing. How do you know how much you have? Is it the rewards credit balance?

I know this is probably a really stupid question but I've read the brochure a few times and I still don't know if I'm right. LMAO :)

Pretty sure it is the rewards credits which are good for food and merchandise. I am wondering if Mon Abi Gabi will let you pay that way.

Hey Starla!

As rick said it's 1000 points for 10 bux. I build my points faster by using there total rewards Visa and the Total Rewards Marketplace. I bought a ton of the Restaurant .com gift certificates during the Black Friday sale for Christmas presents. It was 30x rewards points.

Thanks KK. I saw the TR Marketplace when I was browsing the site. Seems like a great deal. :)

To piggyback on this topic, can you use them for rooms also and if so, do you just go to the TR desk before checking out? Are the reward points zeroed out before any discretionary comps?

I will duplicate an earlier post listing the outlets that accept TR points for payment. To use the points, just give your card and picture ID to the cashier and the points will be deducted from the account. Since it is an award, the purchase is not subject to sales tax, so the bill will be re-figured to deduct the tax. Also, remember to tip in cash since the TR points cannot be used for tips.

Hope this helps:

OSU- thanks for that again but was there not someone who said MonAbiGabi did accept? Sorry, I should just spend the time to go back and find it. Or of course, no harm in asking when I am there, it won't affect our decision to eat there.

Moonanites- it is my understanding that RC's are not elegible to cover room payment.

Also- my MO has been to charge everything to the room and then let them deduct but I think I get it now that it is better to pay with RC's at point of sale to avoid extra tax. Am I getting this correctly?
