staying at Vdara...any tips?

staying at Vdara in july.....

How's the rooms? How's the pool? How's the food in the neighbouring hotels in City Center? Will hubby really miss not having a casino in our hotel?? (!!!) How was the Viva Elvis comparing to other Cirque shows? How's Celine these days???

Can't wait for the heat in July!

Switch to Aria if you can. Vdara is a condo with very few restarants and bars, a boring pool and no casino. Plus a big walk to everything. A nice room yes, but not worth the hassle.

Its not that far to walk, as people say, you can get to Planet Hollywood in about 5 to 10 minutes. Rooms are nice, they place is pretty quiet, if you want the party atmosphere it would not be the place to stay, but if you want peace and quiet and no smoking then stay at Vdara

Gus, you just reinforced every reason I wanted Vdara over Aria for our upcoming stay. The boring pool is just what I want - the fewer Jersey Shore db's the better. The non-smoking, no casino atmosphere is exactly what I want to come back to after a day of ADD-inducing full-Vegas-immersion. And walking is half the reason to go to Vegas. about ten minutes from your room to the casino floor at the Bellagio or Aria, if what others are saying is correct, and then you're on your way north or south.

Tips from someone who has yet to stay there, but has read up -

- ask for a room with an even number if you want any shot at seeing the Bellagio fountains from your room.

- if you're going to use the kitchenette at all, first thing after you arrive, call down to the front desk for cooking gear and have them bring up robes and slippers as well if they aren't already in the room.

for dining options you have easy access to all the restaurants in Aria, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, and the Crystal mall.....
