caesars palace, bellagio, monte carlo or another hotel?

i've narrowed my hotels down. and then i read the forum, and change my mind again. i'm not rich, but do not like skanky

motels.it sounds like i will be going across to imperial palace, o"

sheas, barbary coast for gambing, but how easy or hard is that.

crossing the street, and getting from these hotels , out and over. how do you cross over? and which one is easy to get back to your room. if you stay at the bellagio, is it better up or down? floors? i dont like small spaces and like getting in and out fast! thanks for any info. lots of questions. marylou

CP, Bellagio are both much higher end than Monte Carlo. They are all convenient to the lower-end casinos where you want to play. WHat time of year are you going? If in the warm weather, then I'd opt for CP due to their awesome pool area.

Both Bellagio and CP are huge! There is no "quick" way in and out. Once you get to the street (Vegas Blvd.) getting across the street is easy. You'll see the walkways and or crosswalks and have no problem finding them!

We thought Paris was actually a very "nice" size and not "skanky" by any means! It is also on the same side of the street as the casinos you mention (Imperial P., O'Sheas, etc.). If you are looking for cheap gambling, then definately try Casino Royale which sits across the street from the C.P./Mirage corner! We had a great time in there and they have very low limit tables!

Out of those hotel prices you just gave I would for sure stay at the Mirage for the money. It is a great hotel with a great location and across the street from all of the casinos you mentioned that you want to go to. Mirage is still one of our favorites after going to Las Vegas at least twice a year for 11 yrs. Now, it might look like they are just a min. or two from each other but these hotel resorts are huge and be sure you take very comfortable shoes as you will do LOT'S OF WALKING!!!!!!

Marylou, what dates are you going? If you're not staying on the weekend, they seem high to me. I am saying this because I've gotten so many promotional emails from various hotels with rates as low as $59 during the last week in the month.

For distance: Don't go by the map-- it is SO SO SO deceiving. What looks like a 5 minute walk is actually a 20 minute walk. It's like a mirage in the desert-- you think it's closer than it really is. For instance, the Rio looks like it's 2 blocks off the strip-- WRONG... it takes at least 15-25 minutes to walk there.

Wear some comfy shoes and be prepared to take a shuttle or a cab when and if you get tired.

Also, the it takes at least 10 minutes to walk to the strip from the Bellagio front desk-- the properties are so setback from the road. You walk through a nice mall so you don't realize it but it's far.

We were up on a the 2nd to highest floor (27th floor) we could get with a standard room-- there were still many floors above us with suites. It was an incredible view.

Windows that open in a high-rise? No, it does not comply with building and safety codes. Some offer outside air to be mixed with HVAC, or small pocket windows.

All casinos have tons of slot machines. It is their main source of income.

All the Hotels you mention are very large with complex layouts to discourage you from leaving fast. There are some like Paris/Bally's with interconnecting hallways, but most require you to navigate out through the rear to parking lot or through the casino maze to visitor check-in near Las Vegas blvd.

I would add Venetian to the list. You can easily get Suites at $149. Can't beat that hotel at that price.
