best hotel/room for couple from london

hi alluick question my g/f and I are thinking of visting LV end of November/beginning of December for one week. I had my heart set on Bellagio but just wanted to get some advice on the best hotel in terms of standard room available. Not fussed about the pool areas as it will be cold this time of year. Bellagio are quoting $129pn for a weeks stay. (without promotion/discount codes)

Is this a good rate or should I hold on/book something else?

Thanks

Best Std rooms in Las Vegas are at the Encore,Wynn, THEHotel, Venetian, Palazzo and Augustus Tower at Caesars.

They are far from nothing fancy. So please make your mind up as to what you want, Inexpensive nothing fancy or Best Std rooms.

end of November/beginning of December

Does this include the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend when rates might be higher?

Bellagio is a nice place, but if you want a really nice room, you can usually stay at Pallazo for about the same money as Bellagio.

Pallazo is a the same calibur of hotel, but it's newer, the rooms are much bigger and more plush.

The only reason to stay at Bellagio, IMHO, is for a lake view room. The view is the best. Otherwise, Palazzo is better in every way.

Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November, this year falling on the 25th. Many people in this country get a 4 day weekend off from work, giving them a chance to get away.

Rates in Las Vegas on Thanksgiving itself are not usually too bad, but become quite inflated for that Friday and Saturday night (26th & 27th).

Hey Sandeep

IMHO - the Bellagio is a lovely-looking hotel but maybe a bit dated. I've not stayed there myself but when we're passing through, it's usually really crowded in the reception areas where non-guests are trailing through to the Conservatory or to go to the fountain view bars and restaurants. This is something that's put me and my DH off from staying there.

I can definitely recommend the Palazzo - it's a beautiful hotel with very large well-appointed roms plus some great bars and restaurants on-site. Across the road from is the Fashion Show Mall if you need a more wallet-friendly meal. You can get some great deals by signing up for their e-mail alerts - usually a rate of about $129 per night plus loads of coupons and some slot play. Unlike some other hotel offers, you don't need to be a member of their casino's players club to get these deals.

Check out smartervegas.com and fatwallet.com for promotional codes - but I'd maybe wait a bit - deals usually start appearing a few months in advance.

It may also be worth checking out Expedia for a fight/hotel package - 3 out of the 4 times we've booked Vegas, it was with them. We've had some excellent deals which couldn't be beat by booking separately. We were flexible with our dates though - we were able to tweak the dates to get the cheapest package.

Let us know how you get on!

D =)

In additon to checking for promos on fatwallet and smartervegas, sign up directly with the hotels for e-mail promotions. travelzoo.com is another good site to sign up with for travel deals by email.

If this is your first trip to Vegas stay at the Bellagio. Are there any other hotels that appeal to you?$129.00 is about as good a rate as your are going to get without a Player's Club Card.

Hey all many thanks for your advice, I have been taking a look at the various hotels and it appears that the Bellagio at $129pn is the best rate across the board when compared to others.

I intend to book a standard deluxe room and hopefully try for a complimentary upgrade when we arrive. It being end of Nov hopefully chances are that the hotel will be able to oblige. Or is it more the case of discounted rates for upgrades being made available?

Thanks
