I recommend using google or the links below to research these attractions for addresses/locations, prices, age appropriateness, and just to be sure it’s something you and your family will enjoy. Youtube.com can sometimes be useful for previewing shows and attractions. I looked up mileages for a few of the nearby attractions, but don’t have time to do all of them. Please feel free to add to this list any child friendly attractions in or near Las Vegas you can think of that I may have left out.

Las Vegas isn't for everyone, and not all families, but given the right itinerary, intentions and guidance, Las Vegas can be a great family vacation destination.

Please know, I am not willing to participate in yet another senseless “Kids in Vegas” debate, I just wanted to point out the many family friendly attractions that are in and nearby Las Vegas for those that are unaware.

I beg everyone please try to keep this thread civil. I know some folks here do not think kids should go to Vegas . . . and that’s fine, but this thread is not for that debate. If you want to debate that, please start another thread. I hope this helps some of the great TA members here and I wish everyone happy travels.

I deleted the other 2 because I made revisions and corrections to it and didn't want 2 floating around with different info potentially confusing someone.

Family typically means children when it comes to travel (IMO). Look at the links at the end of my post...they all include the word family.

AWTY- you rock - much appreciate the awesome list. I'm still deciding between Vegas or the naked beaches in Europe with my teenagers. Totally appropriate in Europe I've been told, over and over again. WHEW! (whoops, no reason for me to shout!)

Thanks for the kind words vadreamer, sickboyredlands, amd kornball!

I'm glad it helped you all. I posted this because so many people come here asking for help on what there is to do in Vegas with their family. Some people here reply there's not much for families to do, besides the pool, a show, an arcade, and shopping. I remember one lady saying she and her daughter were bored to death after 4 days at the pool. Apparently they didn't do much else. I felt terrible for her and her daughter. If they only knew was there was much more than just the pool. That was my inspiration for this thread...to give people ideas to better enjoy their hard earned vacation.

Hope you all have a wonderful time in Vegas!

I never thought I'd take my kids to Vegas, but we are doing just that in a couple weeks before we hit the Grand Canyon. I'm actually looking forward to doing all these daytime activities for a change - I usually never get a chance after being out until the wee hours of the morning!

This a great list . . . wondering if we can add family-friendly places to eat and where they're located??? Those places with kid menus, buffets with discounted prices for kids, or just an atomosphere that is more appealing to and/or appropriate for kids.

unyieldingtyrant, family restaurants - that's a great idea!. Would you like to get a list together we can add here? Personally, I'm exhausted...maybe in a couple weeks LOL

We too are going to the Grand Canyon over night. Can't wait! I love that place! We're going through Oatman AZ on the way, then Hoover Dam on the way back. Have you looked into Oatman at all? The Hacienda (just north of Hoover Dam) has a prime rib dinner buffet for $6.49 pp. We'll be hitting that on the way back to Vegas. Never been before, but the price sure sounds good...American Casino Guide even has a 2/1 buffet coupon for there.

AWTY - Excellent post! From now on posters with questions on bringing their families to Vegas should be directed to this thread. Hopefully the whole "should you or not bring your kids to Vegas" debate can be left out of this thread and it be kept truly a "what to do in Vegas with your family" type theme.
