Gambling tips please

As a new gambler, i would like to find out a little about the games and how they work, i don't want to spend a great deal but just want to have some fun on my trip.

Are there any websites or guides on how to play the games and tips to maximise chances of winning?

Thank you

Most casinos offer gaming classes. Inquire at your hotel. Also, you can search Amazon.com for gaming guides - they have an extensive selection. I personally don't have the attention span to read through one of those guides, but I have found the classes rather helpful.

Will give you some idea of the house advantage in most casino games. There's some basic rules regardless of game:

1- have a gambling budget. When you reach your daily limit-you're done. Whether you lose it in 5 minutes or 20 hours. Set a limit on winnings as well-this prevents the "I was up $5K, but I lost it 30 minutes later!" story.

2- Never play a game you don't understand.

3- Never, ever, ask other players for advice. Unless they have degrees in statistics and probability of course :)

4- BJ with proper strategy, and video poker have the lowest house edges. For slots, play higher denomination machines for the same reason. Also, always play max coins.

Every casino gift shop has basic strategy cards for BJ, Roulette video poker and slots. They are small enough to fit in a wallet, and run about $1 each. For table games, just ask the dealer/croupier if you can have the card out while you play.

have fun,

Get yourself down to your nearest PC World and pick up the very strangely names "Xplosiv Bicycle Games Card, Board & Casino Games" triple set. It only costs about a tenner and the Casino games includes all the normal stuff - Blackjack, Craps, Roulette etc. You can then learn the basics without losing any real money.

when we went, we loved roulette. we learned by asking someone who had just come off the table and by watching and listening. also you will find in alot of places the people next to you are helpfull. as are many of the dealers.

THE number one rule of gambling is:

DON'T WAGER MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOOSE.

Before you go to Vegas decide how much you are willing to loose. You can budget a certain amount for each day or just play it loose. But when that money is gone ... don't hit the ATM for more cash and don't take out a line of credit.

Also decide in advance when you will walk away when you are winning. Will you leave when you've increased your bankroll by 30% or when you have doubled? Remember the higher the goal, the less likely that you'll actually win.

Always remember that (in the long run) the house always wins.

Last tip ... don't play for comps.

(Have a great time.)

Here are some fun tips:

Don't just play slots and Video Poker ...

Play some table games. The fact that they are social make them much more interesting and fun. You can interact with machines at home.

VP and slots can be fun but nothing can replace the feeling you get at a hot table ... that is crowded with Vegas veterans.
