How Much For a Room Comp?

Just wondering, we just came back from our wedding and stayed at Harrah's for 4 nights paying the full price since we aren't frequent visitors to LV. We lost about $600 during the trip, and when I tried to use my TR card for Starbucks in the hotel, they told me I had enough points for the coffee, but not for the muffin. I was just wondering how much you have to lose (or gamble) to get a comp room night? Oh, and by the way, since I got married there in Vegas, I still came out a winner no matter how much I lost on the tables. (And yes, she's looking over my shoulder right now!)

Danny, sometimes it just depends. I just joined Total Rewards in June. Gambled $200 at Caesars, and received emails and mailers for 2 free nights at Ballys, Rio, Harrahs, etc...

Watch your mail.

Although I've read new members get this stuff to entice them, and it's Christmas, so rooms are less expensive....

I have noticed that my Harrahs offers are come back offers and not comped rooms at time of check out. I am only gold and I still get cheap or free rooms. Now with MGM I get offers and freeplay and they will comp off rooms at check out. I do however tend to gamble more at MGM Props since we have one close to our house and to get to a Harrahs Prop we would have to go into Canada.

It is the same answer as; how much does a car or house cost?

It seems to take a lot of action to get the room that you are staying in this trip to be comped. However, it does not seem to take a lot to get a room comp mailed to you for a return trip.

The first time I joined total rewards, we played very little there, and subsequently recieved a 3 day comp at Flamingo, Bally's , or Harrahs.

Same with Boyd props. (Orleans, Gold Coast.)

Stayed one extra night at Imperial Palace, and got a 4 night comp, used it on my next trip. , and was then sent a comp for a king suite.

So if you stay at mid-priced places, room comps for a return trip can be quite easy to come by. On you current trip, the best use for your comp points is to charge all you can to the room . then visit the rewards center (or better yet your casino host) and have the room charges paid with comp points.

A comp should cost you nothing. You gamble as you see fit and if you are offered comps you take them.

It would be ridiculous to bet thousands of dollars just for the purpose of getting comped a $200.00 room. I mean, make any bets you want, but don't bet more just to get a comp. That makes no sense.

It's not even good to chase free drinks let alone free rooms.

Also, you say you lost $600.00. It's not how much you win or lose, it's how much you bet. So, if you played blackjack for 40 hours and lost $600.00 overall you will be rewarded much more than if you lost your $600.00 in one hour.

A very great many of the written Post's who go to vegas are

Receiving Free Room Comps for there next Trip. via e-mail . From certain Casino's. Who seem very liberal giving out Comp's . It seem's you only have to Stay there Once ,Or Play a Very little and it seem's your Compt---. not all the Casino's....--- But the majority of them.Which is a hell of a Good deal when Money is tight for many People who travel to Vegas.. and this is a good way of Saving some extra Cash.. Wish all the Casino's would Follow that Practice. And alway's Sign up for there Players Club Card..i believe alot of the Casino's are all Combined so where ever you Play it goes on the same Players Card .which is a great way to Earn Comps Now you have a Chance to Play at alot of Casino's under the Same Player's Card

Harrah's comp's suck. You might get reduced rooms, but that is about it. Totally disappointed to see the Imperial Palace associated with Harrah's.

Not true Booze..............We get free Harrah's rooms with very little play.

Imperial Palace has been owned by Harrah's for some time now, they have just now switched from their own players club to the Total rewards System..

Don't agree with you Booze .... I get comp rooms all the time from Harrah's. It doesn't have to be the one that you play at. I have played mostly in Vegas and got comp rooms in Reno & Lake Tahoe on my first visit. Harrah's has been very good with there comp. for rooms and meals & I am a low roller.
